Hello, I'm Pastor Kim Harris.  I was born into a loving family of Hoyt and Betty Jean Harris in a small town located in central NC.  I have one older brother, Steve.  Family has always been special to me.  Gowning up in the small town of Denton, NC  life was centered around hard work and being a good person.  

Yet after graduating high school and not realizing what to do with myself, there was an empty place in my life.  A special young lady came into my life and after a couple of years of dating, I knew this was meant to be.  It was through my new bride's family--grandparents, sister and brother-in-law, that I was introduced to the Lord. 

In 1986, I received the Lord as my personal savior and the empty place was filled.  After some years of spiritual growing and serving the Lord, the call to surrender to preach came from the Lord in 1999.  With guidance from the Holy Spirit, I realized the special place of the western United States calling our family for service

In 2006, the vision of starting an Independent, Baptist Church was realized.  New Life Baptist Church was started in the basement of our home.  I have a deep gratitude for my dear wife and three precious children for the sacrifice of love to move to the west.
